My rag doll Mia is so lazy! I wish she would tear through the house and get some exercise. But you could play with your little guy when you get home. Try some fur covered mice toys, my cats have all loved those. Mia puts hers in her food bowl so she won't forget where they are LOL. I just love rag dolls they are really silly. Get him a carpet covered cat scratching post.
You Kitten sounds perfectly normal.

He is just a kitten and very playful, especially since he has been alone all day. Cats are nocturnal anyway, which doesn't help!
Here is an article that may give some ideas to help him work out some of his energy and be ready for a nights rest with you.
Purrs to you and kitten.

I don't mean to sound mean, but why did you get an animal that you cannot give affection to? Your kitten is still a baby, and NEEDS companionship. He is emotionally unable to understand why he is alone all the time. You either need to spend more time with your kitten or consider getting him a play mate to keep him company when you are unable to be there.

Do you think being a "purebred" kitten has anything to do with this? Very odd that you felt inclined to put that. Should we be impressed?
Now to your question. When you do get home do you give this kitten any playtime? Or do you ignore it and watch TV and then complain that it's bothering you? It doesn't you have time for this kitten and highly you finding it a new home.

Play with him for as long as you can when you get home from work and wear him down as much as you can. Toys with pure catnip - not the cheap kind - help wear down my cat and he usually sleeps for awhile afterward. And let him inside to sleep on the bed. Chances are he will settle down better. He's still a kitten and it will get better as he gets older.

There are professionals that deal with this sorts of animal behaviour problems. You could call your vet for contacts or for any advise they have that you could try. If you have seen the show Better Homes and Gardens you may have seen the vet Dr Harry Cooper. Go to their website and sign up to try and get on the show for his free help.

Lexy B answered this best, in my humble opinion. If you don't have the time or energy to give your kitten some companionship and affection why did you get one in the first place ?

Our cat is the same, we hype him up alot at night time...run around the house with him (i can tell u, he isnt the only one who gets buggered) but we do that alot and it wares him out so he sleeps thru the night. although there are times where he still keeps us awake
