before i quit my job i was once in an okay position in a TV channel but the pay i was receiving does not compensate with what i do. a job offer came, it is a lower position than what I had before. it's graveyard shift but a couple of thousands higher than what i've been receiving before in my former company. i know should be accepting the offer since i'm in need of money. but i have this thought that why should i accept that offer if that position is lower than what i used to have? am i only that worth now? i hope not.

If you don't think that you will be happy with the new job, even with the extra pay, don't go. You will just find yourself looking for another job soon. I found out the hard way.

Its just whats happening for you now. I don't think its any reflection on your talents or skills. They are probably stoked to have you..hence the extra dosh. Look at it as a foot back in the door..and a way back up the ladder..a way to get back a similiar or better position than you used to have but this time with more money. Also its harder to get a job when you are not in one. And the money sure helps plus this job will help your confidence when applying for others you want more. If you really don't want it you just won't take it.

You have to decide which is more important to you, the higher salary or the more prestigious title. If it were me, I would opt for the higher salary, because you can always climb the corporate ladder. What good is a high-sounding title when the salary is lower than what you feel you are worth? I would accept the offer if it meets your other requirements, such as hours, flexibility, benefits, and opportunity for advancement. Good luck!

Its never easy to make such decisions. Perhaps you should consider which position is more likely to lead to future advancement.

Take the new job. If you need the money, then go for it.
