Thinking about buying for the Family

The PS3 and Wii are 2 entirely different game consoles that is made for different gamers and age groups, but if I were comparing the 2 consoles based on technology and features, the PS3 would be my obvious choice.
The PS3 is a console for hardcore gamers, as well as pre-teen gamers because the PS3 does have rated "E" games as well such as Rachet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction and other games.
The Wii is a console that is for children, and for people that don't play video games all the time. Also, the gameplay for the Wii is more interactive, so it will probably be more fun to play for younger and older players. The Wii is the best choice for a console for the family probably. But I also think that the PS3 is a whole entertainment center, and a game console.

the wii might be better if its for your family but id go with the PS3 because it has a pretty good game library for next year

for the family i would say Wii but for older people ps3 is much better, Wii is more for kids and ps3 is more for teens/adults

Wii, if u have children that likes to be active. PS3 if u want the graphics.

WII for the family. Much more fun-er and active.

Wii it is actually like working out i wore a calorie counter while playing and burned 153 calories. much more interactive

PS3 - Is for older, it is a next generation high definition game console and media center, with blu-ray and cell power.
Wii - Is for younger kids, it is very simple and kids damage proof, it can play game cube games.

ps3 graphics are better plus it already has blue ray which if your a movie watcher you would love it just for that, not just that ps3 has alot more selection in games
