If you are in the Great US, I don't think it handles humans like that, however, OTHER countries might and most likely will!

Best answer: "Maybe." Better question might be "When?"

You have to understand how refugees and asylees come to be- politicians decide. That element alone kinda makes it impossible to guess. But some of us are hopeless optomists, so here goes- "Not right away" is the best answer and that is because it takes time to effect any changes involving a lot of people.

Another way to look at this is to ask yourself, "Whose ox will get gored?" Which elected officials will gain or lose by supporting or opposing this policy?

One more cynical observation- As long as troops are stationed there, the war won't be "over." And security won't be improved enough to resettle refugees while troops are still there in numbers. Oh, there will likely always be a few military there but as long as you have a war going on, you'll have lots of military there.

The refugees and asylees who are here have to opportunity to convert their temporary status to permanent legal resident status. If they do this before the war ends, I don't think anyone will ask them to leave because they have permanent status. Best hope for a refugee is to become a LPR before the war ends.

News reports are news, not policy. The elections may put some pressure on policy, but I don't think much will change soon.

Good luck. Sorry my crystal ball is so murky.

Where are you? Not from the US yet, but I did read that some countries were refusing to take more for that reason, so it is possible.

I am being serious, but you need to give us a little more information.

We just said we'd take 12,000 by next year, and our government insists we are still needed there, so if you were granted asylum I'd think you are ok for a while. I did just see something on a woman who was NOT granted asylum, but I doubt they will rush to open up the cases they did grant when we still have people here with Temporary Protected Status for an earthquake in their countries in 1993.

Looks like we're taking more, ourselves. http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2007/11/08/1082635-syria-to-let-us-screen-iraqi-refugees

Yes, MARK B>you're right every other country does protect their borders, cultures and maintains the language of the country, but are wrong about American haters. Take a count at the amount of immigrates coming to the United States from all these great countries. What's the problems with these countries as you pointed out are doing such a great job. The Americans can be haters as you want to put it, just tired of putting up with the problems of other countries not being able to take care of their people and the American tax payers have to provide and make room for them.
Now if the United States was to enforce what you stated other countries do for their people, our problems wouldn't be as bad as they are today.
To answer your question- you should return to your own country to rebuild it.

Yes, because unlike Americans the rest of the world defends their borders and their cultures and their languages. The rest of the world isn't full of self hatred and shame like the loser Americans are.

Yes, because the country they are in now do not want them to stay.

Yes; 'cause the Syrians and Jordanians don't want 'em there.
