only the PS3 should need an adapter.
The PS2 and PS1 have memory card slots built into them. Just make sure you are using a PS2 memory card for a PS2 game, and a PS1 memory card for a PS1 game.
and if you want to save your progress in any way, then yes memory cards are required. If you like to start your games from the very beginning every time then you will not need a memory card.
And a new ps2 will come with a power cord, a/v cables, and 1 controler.

No, you don't need the adapter. That's for transferring PS2 memory card information to a PS3 hard drive.
You also don't need a memory card at all, but without it, you won't be able to save any game information. You'll have to start a game over every time you turn the system off.
Yes, the PS2 does come with a controller.

You don't have to have a Memory Card Adapter to use a Memory card with the PS2. All you do is put the PS2 memory card into the PS2 and that's it. And yes, it is a necessity to have a memory card for the PS2 because without it, you can't save your games.
The Memory Card adapter is only used for the PS3 to transfer PS2 memory card data onto the PS3's hard drive. And memory cards aren't needed for the PS3 because it has a hard drive.

You do not NEED to use a memory card but you won't be able to save your games without it. No adapter is required. The PS2 console comes with one controller.

No I don't think you need the adpter or the the memory card at all but without the card you will not be able to save any data and have to start over every time you turn your PS2 off.

no...the memory card goes into the ps2 itself and it is a nessessity 2 hav a memory card if u want 2 save ur games
