does your spouse or parents ever cook the same thing repeatedly, i mean like every week. it seems like we have spaghetti w/ garlic bread once a week and baked steak w/ mashed potates and green beans. i try to mix it up but she usually goes for something easy.

I don't mean to sound like an *** here, but for Pete's sake, some people out here don't get enough to eat and have no choice in what they do get.

I understand you may get tired of the same thing all the time, but jeez, be thankful for what you have.

These days it usually takes two to make a living and if your (spouse, parent) works, I dont blame them for going for something easy.

I'm the soul support of my family and work 10 hours a day. when I get off work I have to come home, cook dinner, do laundry etc.

Hell yeah, I want easy. If they don't like what I cook, they can damn well cook themselves. I'd love to come home and find a meal already cooked, the laundry already done, etc.

In other words, if you ain't happy, do it your own damn self.

Yes... my mom would do her standard meals during the week.
There was always Spam with Mac'n'cheese and peas, there was usually hamburgers, there was usually pork chops with some kind of veggie, and of course, spaghetti & meatsauce. Truth is, cooking is cost-efficient, but it also takes effort.

You can always take time out to so grocery shopping with her and select some other things, and you can always grab a cookbook and start something in the kitchen before she gets home.

When I get home late or just too tired, my husband and I go out, or just grab something alfresco.

Oh absolutely.

My parents tend to go towards the dinners that are simple, fast and cheap. So we're always having chicken nuggets, burritos, beans, spagetti.

but hey, at least i have SOMETHING to eat. Some kids don't have caring parents who actually cook them meals. I use to actually live by some people who's parents hardly ever went grocery shopping, so a lot of the time they wouldn't have dinner and if they did they have to prepare it themselves or have something small like a handful of chips.

My mom sometimes lets me have control of the radio in the car..well she also likes to dance in her seat when I put it on rock/rap music and sing all weird. She also dances in the store whenever there's a guy looking at me =[ it's pretty embarassing. My dad always calls me "louy gooy" infront of my friends too lol that's pretty bad.

We have either some sort of pasta every night or Chinese take-out. I'm very happy, I love pasta. It's my favorite food, along with Chinese. Probably not very healthy, but delicious.

If you want something different, cook it yourself. Don't just sit there and whine. It will get you nowhere.
