Yes, Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), is one of the well known and powerfull anti oxidant available in many citrus fruit drinks, reduces free radicals and highly oxidative/oxidized compounds like hydrogen peroxide to cure damage tissues. Actually these oxidative agents react with the normal cells/cell membrain and damage them, thereby causing aging. Most of the anti oxidants, like glutothione, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, react with these agents to stop aging.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'medically proven', but Vitamin C is well documented to play critical roles in the formation of collagen which is vital for skin and tissue repair.

Yes, it is necessary for enzymatic function in the development AND MAINTENANCE of collagen and scar tissue.

If you read accounts of Captain George Anson's voyages in the 1740's, you will note that many of the troops on board were "invalids" from previous battles. When they got scurvy (from Vitamin C deficiency), scars that were decades old disrupted and opened anew.
