Thanks to all who replied, but I'm trying to find a scientific answer. I plan to stay AWAY from antibacterial soap due to the news about the germs getting immuned and wanted to know if I could use Irish Spring.,

No. deodorant has a perfume in it to MASK odor. Anti bacterial KILLS bacteria to get rid of odor.

deodorants are used to mask or prevent odor like sweat. antibacterial soap kils the bacteria that causes order, illnesses, and infection. For the good of all others around you....use both. Antibacterial to be really clean, and deodorant to stay fresh. I feel like a commercial...

Not really, for deodorant soap leaves you smelling nice, whereas the antibacterial just kills off the bacteria

Antibacterial kills germs. Deoderant makes you smell pretty. I would go with antibacterial because the soap kills germs. If you wanted to smell good I would use Antibacterial soap then deoderant soap.

Anti-bacterial products gets rid of the dreaded bacteria while deodorants gives off a nice scent to cover up the unpleasant one.

Deodorant was derived from Latin: "odorem" meaning smell.

Antibacterials can help avoid bad odors. But popular deodorants on shelf adds pleasant smelling chemicals.

Most smells are do to bacteria. So I would think that Dial would be better.

anti bacterial is disenfecting (cleaning) and deodorant is smelling good (making it smell better).
