How i can lock the ISO and shutter speed with Nikon D40?

First, change to the shutter priority mode. (it's the S on the dial) From there you can change the shutter speed to whatever you want and it will not change. Hold the +/- button down and turn the wheel to select. Other wise if you want complete control over the shutter speed and aperture change to manual mode. Then go to your iso menu and select the speed you want. So long as its not on auto it will stay put until you change it. Good luck and hope this helps some.
