my dad wont let me have a myspace because he thinks ill give my info out?

My parents won't let me have myspace either, and i guess a lot of it is because they're afraid you might do something dumb.
I don't think parents really understand how myspace works. If you do you might want to explain that you can set your profile to private, which if your parents don't understand means nobody can go on your page unless they're your friend and there are codes to where you can actually hide almost all the information on your myspace page. Tell your parents about that and see if they think differently. You might also want to let them know you're not going to be posting nude pictures or talking to people you don't know. Just say it's a place where you can communicate with your friends. Maybe make an agreement and let them check your myspace page just to be secure.
This really deals a lot with trust. If you haven't earned enough obviously you need to see what you've done to loose it and what you have to do to earn the privledge of getting a myspace.

Because so many children have been lured away from home by pedophiles and predators. And many have been killed! Now, don't you think that's a good enough reason why your dad won't let you have a "myspace" account?

Your dad loves you. There are some real perverts on the internet,. I mean, sure not every girl is stupid and begins to talk to random guys on myspace. But its best to be safe.

I won't let my son on My Space unless I'm there to see what he is doing. There is too much a kid does not need to see, or be exposed to on that site. Parents know that site has its own I.M and down loads, videos.
I also have software that e-mails me when he is on line informing me of what he is looking at.
Our job is to protect our children. You may think he is being mean and doesn't understand, but out of his love he is trying to protect you.

Because people tend to be stupid on the internet. They give out info, talk to people they shouldn't, get themselves hurt by meeting those people they never should have talked to. It can be dangerous. Your father is being a good parent and is trying to protect you.

probably because you're going to take slutty pictures and post them on your myspace and then a '13 year old boy' who is really 42 will stalk you and rape your dumbass
