I'm getting the impression the main thing that is bothering you is Christians outside abortion facilities. I have been there. I'll tell you why I do it. I love the babies that are going to be sliced up in there, and I love their mothers, many of whom will agonize over the choice they made for the rest of their lives. These days, I talk to a lot of women who are in agony and regret, and I try to help them experience emotional and spiritual healing. You probably have no idea how much some women hurt from this decision. I almost had an abortion myself once, and I had HORRIBLE nightmares for months afterwards, the kind that make you wake up in a cold sweat, trembling all over. I can only imagine what it would have been like had I actually had an abortion. We know that there are a lot of women who are being coerced. We want them to know we are there, we love them, and we will help them. We also know that a lot of women want some decent decision counseling, but they won't get it once they walk through the door. Former abortionists have told us they were taught to SELL abortions. Abortion is a horrible attack on the mother's body, and causes grave problems. A woman's body is designed to protect her children, and you have to damage it to perform an abortion in the first place. Some women are dying from abortion, and some are becoming seriously disabled. We are there because we care. We don't force anyone to do anything. We just go there to pray and be available if a woman really wants another answer. It's not really about respecting someone's beliefs. If I saw someone standing on the edge of a cliff, threatening to jump, I'd try to drag that person back so they couldn't jump. It's about me knowing how women will feel once the abortion is finished, and they can't take it back. And by the way, it's not just Christians who go there. Lots of people with other faiths do, too.

I am aware that some homosexuals have desecrated Catholic churches. I'm not Catholic, so it doesn't affect me directly. I'm simply telling you that it does happen. A lot depends on news coverage. When do you ever hear about that? The media don't talk about it. And if a small group of Christians go to a gay pride parade, they'll stand their quietly with signs, and maybe sing or hand out tracts, but they don't actually DO anything to the participants. But it's not uncommon for participants to spit in the faces of these people. Again, you never hear about it. And another thing that often happens is that abortion facility personnel commit violence against the protestors. You don't hear about that, either, but the link I'm giving you below will tell of specific instances. These are all documented. I have actually personally witnessed someone trying to run down an abortion protestor in her fancy red sports car.

And then there are the people who have been picketing a church where a funeral for a military man killed in the line of duty is being held. How often do you hear about that?

Protesting IS the American way. We need to respect the right of everyone to protest peacefully. I don't accept it when people who protest abortion turn violent. Fortunately, it rarely happens, and often people sign pledges that they will not engage in any form of violence.

You're young, and you probably are concerned how people view you as a person, that's normal. Eventually, you'll get to the point where you don't give a rats behind about what "they" think, and it won't be so upsetting. Jesus M could have said things in a different way to encourage you to seek out what he believes is the right way of life, instead of acting like the judge and jury about your religious beliefs. Chalk it up to the fact that there are poor representatives in every group of people, be it religious or secular.

I don't know where you live, but I've seen both pro-choice and gay protesters outside of churches. So far all the pagans I know seem to be very non-confrontational people.
The pro-choice protesters were the worst, they were screaming obscenities as families with young children walked past. Gotta love the first amendment.
Guess you can find narrow minded idiots in every group.

Actually I have never seen a protester outside an abortion clinic, a pagan or gay function....of any religion. Have you?

What is wrong with protests anyways?? In the 60's it was the "in" thing. Now, we sit in our comfy chairs and complain.

It's simply because they have very strong beliefs about their religion. Don't let it bother you. People who are overly obsessed with their religion in every way, should be ignored. People who are so close minded to other religions aren't worth it because they're too headstrong to listen to what anyone else has to say. And lastly, I've noticed that too specifically with Christians, that they take their beliefs to the extreme at times. I think it's because Churches and the religion itself must emphasize that their beliefs are the absolute correct beliefs, and that other people are out to change it, so they have to hold their ground.

You are not perfect,,,,why not try to make yourself the best person you can and stop being so judgmental...you can not judge a person's heart....and while we are at condemnation here....Jesus did not come to condemn anyone but to call them to salvation...

Education is the best way to stop abortion,,let the women of this world know, that a baby begins at conception...you are killing your baby....a baby is not a thing to jerk out of a woman's stomach and strangle the life out of it.....that is murder and you don't have the right to take that life away..

The dilemma today is when Christians point out what other people are doing wrong in God's eyes, those like you take offense BECAUSE of your lifestyle.
I respect people's decision but it doesn't mean I will accept their lifestyle. If God says it's wrong, it is wrong.

What I can't stand is watching people who don't believe in Christianity do everything they can to shut the voice of Jesus completely off. Cross on the road, get rid of it. Someone mentions Jesus in the government building, throw him out. Someone mentions hell on Y! Answers, toss them out permanently. Who is being tolerant?
And have you seen here lately the bashing and mocking done to Christians by mostly atheists?
Who is being more tolerant?

I would love pagans to come by our church. God would introduce Himself to them REAL QUICK. Either they would join or run from the premises.

Just so you know, out of all my relatives on my side of the marriage, I am the ONLY one who is Christian. and I love them ALL as Christ loves them.

Our faith does not spread disease, pervert little children, kill the unborn, or teach lies to people over and over.

Your question is like a murdering, raping, Aids spreading whore monger saying, "I do not know why the families of the people I have come into contact with do not respect me for who I am and just realize that I am trying to spread the love".

Uncontrolled homosexuality leads to the situation like in Sodom & Gommorah where the neighbors were just trying to spread the love.

These Christians get the media attention. Believers who are giving food to the hungry, running homeless shelters, or just visiting the sick and lonely don't exactly have to worry about media saturation of their activities.

I'm sorry some of my fellow believers have treated you badly. They should be ashamed. I'm glad you don't let it affect your relationship with your family.
