In the summer of 2006 I worked at one and they had an enrichment program for kids and teens and the summer program seemed more laid back than what some of the kids who went to the church's school during the year. But are Penecostals really strict, the ones are know are mostly black and seem nice. It was a black/minority (mostly) that I worked at.

Super Star, you must be talking about primative Baptists. The Penecostals I knew wore some makeup, perfume, and did not have "way too long" hair.

No, I don't believe we are. We enjoy the freedom we have in Christ. We worship as the Spirit moves us. We don't bug each other about paying tithes, dressing up and whatnot. We don't shun or close our doors to anyone. We laugh, we cry, we have fun. Nope, strict isn't a word I would use. And that dress code thing that was mentioned above...that's just stupid. I go to church in a t-shirt and jeans. God isn't impressed by what I wear on the outside.

There are many different kinds of Pentecostals. I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at the Vineyard Church. It was a small intimate contemporary Church. I was introduced to the huge United Pentecostal Church shortly thereafter. I learned a lot from both Churches. All the Pentecost Churches I know, have one thing in common, they all believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. A powerful gift offered to all who ask.

Of course they are nice, they are Christians. Are they
strict? Yes, as they still believe in some of the things from
the law (as opposed to grace when Christ changed the
law) such as not cutting hair, speaking in tongues, no slacks
for women, women must be quiet in church, women can't
teach bible classes, and men rule over women in the home.
That doesn't bother me....let everyone go to the church of
their choice and follow that church's rules.

This know that in the last days perilous times shall come , for men shall be lovers of themselves , covetous ,
boasters , proud , blasphemers , disobedient to parents , unthankful , unholy , without natural affection ,
trucebreakers , false accusers , incontinent , fierce , despisers of those that are good , traitors , heady ,
high-minded , lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God , having a form of godliness but denying the power
of it ; from such turn away . For this of this sort are they who creep into houses and lead captive silly women
laden with sins , led away with various lusts , ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

so strict that your body is not your own, they tell you how to dress, you can't cut your hair, you can't wear make up.
as a result they are not very attractive, I believe being homely and ugly is not only a sin its a crime.

They aren't strict. But WE do adhere to a dress code for men/women. Most people find that strict, but we find it freeing, if that is a word.
