Going to be for c. c. w. 40 cal., what do you think?

The Glock is a high quality, reliable, and accurate weapon. My personal gripe with it is that it does not have a manual safety. My partner carried a Sig in .40 cal. and my step son bought one just like it. For my partner, the gun was real finicky about ammo; my son's gun broke before firing one box of ammo thru it.

I have owned and carried an H&K USP, in 45 ACP. Damned fine gun. Only gun I have ever qualified 100% with out of the box. I usally have to dink with sights and triggers to get a gun where I like it. Nothing to do on this gun. High quality, reliable, accurate, shoots everything I put in it.

Go with the H&K. . .

First I think this has to be personal choice. I don't have an issue with the Glock trigger and find it easier to use a consistent trigger than the long/short of a DA/SA gun.

I have the Glock and the Sig. The Sig is a prettier gun but I have more experience of the Glock being entirely reliable. If you look at the links below you'll see documentation of the H&K failing under torture tests while the Glock and Sig always pass. In the Glock torture videos, that's his competition gun, he hasn't cleaned it in years and it's still working like new.

I bought the Glock first and I have hunted rabbits with it, and not gone hungry, out to 30 yards. I bought the Sig because I wanted a reliable 45 and I don't think the 1911 is as reliable when it isn't owned by someone who knows how to care for it perfectly. (I have a Kimber 45 and it's reliable with Wilson mags, but not with others.)

For ccw purpose weight will be a big factor. I have owned more than 60 hand guns and have a ccw permit. Never had an HK but most sigs were too heavy for all day comfort. The Glock was great. My personal favorites for full time carry are the Kimber ultra carry in 45acp, S&W chief special in 38+p. Either one of these when carried all day I almost forget I have them on very comfortable. The Kimber ultra carry 3 inch barrell has a guide rod built like a shock absorber. Amaizingly mild recoil for a light weight gun and less snap than a 40cal. It gives you 7 in the mag and 1 in the chamber. In the Glock I carried the Glock 19 in 9mm. Great gun weight is fine hi cap but a little bulky. Be sure to get the right holster very important. Good luck.

All three are high quality, reliable products and you won't go wrong with any of them. One factor to consider is customer service, should the pistol ever need repairs. Some people have reported that H&K and Sigarms can be difficult or expen$ive to deal with in that regard. I can't say from personal experience, that's just something I've heard.

I can tell you from personal experience that Glock's customer service is far above average. I bought a used model 30 and found out later it had problems. Even though I wasn't the original owner (and they had every right to charge) Glock repaired it for free.

They returned it in a factory hard case, thoroughly cleaned inside and out, re-lubed, test fired, with a new owner's manual, speed loader and cute little keychain. The magazines had all been replaced by brand new ones. To top it off, the turn around time was about one week. Any company doing that will get my business again.

I would say Sig. I never shot the H K (assuming USP) and I do not like Glocks. I am a Springfield Armory XD kinda guy... I own two, one in 9 and one in .45ACP. I love them.

Both the HK and Sig are more than the Glock I believe, but the Sigs are better in line of safeties and looks over the Glocks. Thats why I like the XD.

Good Luck

I have fired all three weapons. The glock is ackward yet very accurate. The H&K is one hell of a gun if you have a healthy wallet. My pick is the trusted and tried Sig Sauer. It will never jam and it has a better feel and balance. Accuracy at one hundred feet is very common with all three weapons. If the Police Departments carry Glocks then there is a reason behind it. Personal preference my friend.

If the gun is for ccw ONLY, go with the one that feels best without worrying about looks. I hope it's the Glock for your sake. The Glock is like a Honda Civic that you drive to church every Sunday. You don't need an Acura (Sig) or a Lexus (HK) to do that!

To quote my answer recently chosen as 'Best' by another shooter:
"Rather than deal with amateur opinions, I have found that the professionals, both commercial and independent, have given a slight edge to the H-K pistols, from tests run by evaluators from such sources as Guns & Ammo, American Handgunner, and Gun Tests magazines.
In such tests, the H-K USP models had fewer malfunctions and NO (0) failures when tested against, not only the Sig-Sauer, but Beretta, Springfield, and S&W models, as well.
I've run nearly 5,000 rounds through my H-K USP .45ACP, including Hydra-Shok, Cor-Bon, and several equivilent custom handloads, with 0 stoppages EVER, and it's tolerances haven't measureably changed since I first aquired it.
As a 'die-hard' 1911 fan, know too that I carry my USP .45 in 'Condition One' (****** & locked) with a round chambered, just as safely as one can with the 1911.
The only negative factors I've dealt with carrying the USP, inherrent in the SOCOM, as well, is it's larger size, but I'm a larger guy and LIKE the more impressive size, and the limited availability of carry systems, but I carry concealed in my own unorthodox manner, anyway.

P.S: for others that may snivel at the higher prices of the USP's, I recently saw one on Gunbroker for $400, believe it or not, & there have been several .45's & .40's for little more than the XD's asking price."
P.P.S: I also own Glock, but a H-K USP is what covers my @rse. . . .

As my Ol' Man was so fond of saying, "You get what you pay for. . . . . . "

out of the 3, I'd go with HK, Sigs rust (bad), and Glocks are just awkward feeling to me

Personal favorite is the H & K. The weapons officer at our local P.D talked the department into re- arming with the Sig. The officers I know really like them.
