I have a SC2 1996 Saturn that I bought 9 months ago for 2g. The interior is nice. It's clean. But it's just not.. up to date. No power locks, manual windows. It needs a new paintjob, i've put money into it for new batteries, tires, and other things.

I really want a new car. I like Hondas. My boyfriend has a Honda Civic EX. But I've heard good and bad things about them. I like the Subaru WRX STi. But. I honestly don't know anymore.

I want a cheap car, that I can put a bit of money into, and have it look nice. But I honestly am confused as to what to do.

The WRX STi is a great car, but in less you have at least $25000(used) then its not the car for you.
Honda's are great cars, reliable, cheap, great looking, amazing performance, a civic or any other honda car would be a great purchase, dollar for dollar

JetDoc has some good advice,
If you want power locks go to an audio shop have some put in they are not that expensive, slap a paint job on that baby and get the interior detailed and it just might feel like a new car again. Save your $$$$'s and wait until you HAVE to buy a new car.
Here's a little advice, instead of buying a new car now, use the money that you would have used to make payments every month into a bank account with a high interest rate.
EX: $300.00 x 36 months = $10,800.00
$10,800.00 x 4.25% interest = $11,259.00
That's $459.00 of free money

Both the Civics and the Imprezza's are rated pretty well for reliability. Certainly better than the Saturns.

Frankly a car is transportation. If it gets me there, it's a good car.

Get a 1993 Mazda rx7 or a 1995 Nissan 300zx.

You have a serviceable vehicle that will take you where you need to go. You didn't say so, but I'm assuming it's paid for, and the insurance has got to be cheap... What more do you REALLY NEED?

Save your money for something important!
