Depends on the mall but as a minimum 18 for unarmed positions and 21 for armed positions. Most armed positions also usually require previous law enforcement, military, or armed security experience, and extensive background/criminal history checks, sometimes even a polygraph.

My son is mall security,have to be 18. And for a lot of them they are working as security,until they can become cops.

Your son did something VERY wrong. He is just choosing not to tell you the whole truth and act like he was being innocent when these big meanie adults came and beat him up. Malls are a busy place, somebody saw what really happened and will speak up. He probably got caught shoplifting or purse snatching.

Depends on if you carry a gun or not.
You have to be 21 to carry a gun in most states.
