Oh YES, Katie, God is SO REAL!! But, if you don't know Him yourself....then it would make it hard to believe. When you know somebody, it is easier to trust in them. The way to do that is to spend time talking to God and "listening" to His Word. When you are wanting to get to know someone sometimes it helps to talk to a person who knows them well. They can tell you things about them and stories that have happened to them. That is what people in the Bible did. The parents told the children what happened to them...and they passed it down to their kids. And, yes, God can really help you. He has promises in the Bible that you can claim for yourself. Here is one....
" And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with ALL YOUR HEART." Jeremiah 29:13
It does take some faith too because we cannot see God, but we can see how He works, and what He has created. He will give us more faith and we can grow more by exercising it.....trusting Him to do what He says and then see what happens. I will pray for you to have a close relationship with God...and then tell someone else that does not know Him.

Hello Katie,
Your hearts in the right place. That you desire to seek Him is wonderful. That you have questions & doubts regarding this is quite normal as we all have. Yes Katie He can really help you.
I to spent 4yrs at a Catholic Boarding School so have an understanding with regards to your teaching in religious matters. The Bible speaks in John17:3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent".
To really get to know God one really needs to prepair oneself. When you look at history you'll find not many have really known The Almighty. There's one saint that stands out for me & that's Smith Wigglesworth. This man travelled the world and even came to New Zealand. Fifty odd people raised back to life, many many people were healed & so forth. What spoke to me was this mans lifestyle and committment to what he spoke. He would not even allow a newspaper into his home, he read only the new testament & this level of understanding I beleive is very important for those serious of actually wanting to know Him.
What gets your mind gets you. We live in a very media driven world. We have TVs, the internet, cell phones, ipods movies, sports, recreational activities coming out our ears & a host of other distractions not to mention sex & everything that goes with that and carreers to build etc. These people that actually made it, they were humble people, not wealthy & put all the distractions of their day aside & gave Him there minds. They were eventually able to pray the prayer of faith & know with absolute certainty that The Almighty would show up. Why He showed up was because He knew them & they knew Him, John 17:3. On a scale of 1 to 10 how converdent are you that The All Mighty will show up if you pray the prayer of faith? and I'm asking everyone reading this.
Your Father in heaven loves you so much, there's enough recorded material by real people that He's real. It's a journey and if this relationship in John 17:3 is so important and that's what these other men & woman of God had which others didn't, then there will be no one else around when you develope this relatioship. It starts at home, and the more you press towards Him the clearer things will become. You don't need to run out to all the religious meetings around town or watch every tele evangelist because it's my opinion that most of it is fake.
Don't go half way, & when you get there, say Hi from me. What get's your mind get's you. Guard your eye gates"porn etc" guard your ear gates"too many voices preaching at you can get confuseing & unfortunately most people where ever you are don't themselves have a relationship with Him, so there for don't no the way. Sounds simple & it is, most churches complicate things & end up deterring people because of their many many conditions which become like chains on people then some are about their own buisness & not His.
All the best.

I wanted to tell you that God is real. Do you consider yourself a Christian also? I think you have to ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord of your life and also repent of your sins continually to become a Christian (You can still be Catholic...just make sure what you believe lines up with the word of God. (Bible))
And to answer your other question. God does answer prayer if you are sincere and it is within His will for you. One extremely obvious example of answered pray that I have experienced goes as follows...
I prayed with my husband for God to provide for us all that we need. God has never let us down. Someone from the church walked up to me one day and asked what kind of car I would buy if I were to buy a car and I said I would get a buick (I had a nice OLD buick so that is why I said that.) He said ok, you have one. I was like "What?" He said "I want to give you and your husband a car." I was like "Are you sure." He said, "Yes, I went to the car dealership to ask what the trade in would be for my 2000 buick lesabre and then felt like God was saying that I needed to give it to you in your husband." (Thank you God! And the nice man that gave us the car.) The thing that made this an obvious answer to prayer...
I brought my old buick to the shop the next day and found out that it was extremely dangerous to drive because the bottom was rusted almost completely out in the back.
But there are other less obvious answers to prayer. We have to be paying attention more to the positive things that we run into...(were they answered prayers?) And also if you ever prayed for patience for example...you will see that many times God answers by making you go through something that will require great patience. Try to pay attention closely to what you pray and also pay attention to the creative ways God answers the prayer. God doesn't always answer prayer in a way that we would expect.

It is never bad when you ask a serious question and truly want an answer.
We as christians walk by faith not by sight. None of us has ever seen God yet it is in the depth of the spirit of all of us that God is real.
This may challenge you to take another look as to whether or not God is real
Question: "Is God real? How can I know for sure that God is real?"
Answer: We know that God is real because He has revealed Himself to us in three ways: in creation, in His Word, and in His Son, Jesus Christ.
The most basic proof of God’s existence is simply what He has made. “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that [unbelievers] are without excuse” (Romans 1:20). “The heavens declare the glory of God / And the firmament sheweth His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1).
If I found a wristwatch in the middle of a field, I would not assume that it just “appeared” out of nowhere or that it had always existed. Based on the watch’s design, I would assume it had a designer. But I see far greater design and precision in the world around us. Our measurement of time is not based on wristwatches, but on God’s handiwork—the regular rotation of the earth (and the radioactive properties of the cesium-133 atom). The universe displays great design, and this argues for a Great Designer.
If I found an encoded message, I would seek out a cryptographer to help break the code. My assumption would be that there is an intelligent sender of the message, someone who created the code. How complex is the DNA “code” that we carry in every cell of our bodies? Does not the complexity and purpose of DNA argue for an Intelligent Writer of the code?
Not only has God made an intricate and finely tuned physical world, He has also instilled a sense of eternity in the heart of every person (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Mankind has an innate perception that there is more to life than meets the eye, that there is an existence higher than this earthly routine. Our sense of eternity manifests itself in at least two ways: law-making and worship.
Every civilization throughout history has valued certain moral laws, which are surprisingly similar from culture to culture. For example, the ideal of love is universally esteemed, while the act of lying is universally condemned. This common morality—this global understanding of right and wrong—points to a Supreme Moral Being who gave us such scruples.
In the same way, people all over the world, regardless of culture, have always cultivated a system of worship. The object of worship may vary, but the sense of a “higher power” is an undeniable part of being human. Our propensity to worship accords with the fact that God created us “in His own image” (Genesis 1:27).
God has also revealed Himself to us through His Word, the Bible. Throughout scripture, the existence of God is treated as a self-evident fact (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 3:14). When Benjamin Franklin wrote his Autobiography, he did not waste time trying to prove his own existence. Likewise, God does not spend much time proving His existence in His book. The life-changing nature of the Bible, its integrity, and the miracles which accompanied its writing should be enough to warrant a closer look.
The third way in which God revealed Himself is through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:6-11). “In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us” (John 1:1, 14). In Jesus Christ “dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9).
In Jesus’ amazing life, He kept the entire Old Testament law perfectly and fulfilled the prophecies concerning the Messiah (Matthew 5:17). He performed countless acts of compassion and public miracles to authenticate His message and bear witness to His deity (John 21:24-25). Then, three days after His crucifixion, He rose from the dead, a fact affirmed by hundreds of eyewitnesses (1 Corinthians 15:6). The historical record abounds with “proof” of who Jesus is. As the Apostle Paul said, “This thing was not done in a corner” (Acts 26:26).
We realize that there will always be skeptics who have their own ideas concerning God and will read the evidence accordingly. And there will be some whom no amount of proof will convince (Psalm 14:1). It all comes down to faith (Hebrews 11:6).
If God isn't real then Christ died in vain.

It's not wrong to wonder about the reality of God. God can help anyone who will sincerely ask. Look around you to see the world he created to see he is real. Also, let that be a testament of the miracles he can perform.Keep praying, never give up!

Where is God? He is everywhere,in everything. All we see is his creation. So God is in your heart and you can find Him there , if you sincerely search within you. This is meditation ,which all saints do,in many religions.
You know that ,no one, even God will help you. You are governed by Natural law ,which is same for all.We all are responsible for our actions both physical or mental and get the result / fruit our own actions .You must have heard the saying '' As you sow,so you reap".
So have faith and confidence in yourself . You need not run after religious preachers. You will have your own realization in spirituality.

In order for God to hear your Prayer you must first be a born again believer in Jesus Christ. Nobody can do this for you, Jesus came and died on a cross for you, he gave his precious blood on calvery to wash away your sins and mine. Jesus will hear no other prayer from you than the sinners prayer. Basically it gets down to the reason you don't believe is because your prayers aren't being answered right.First you must accept Jesus as Lord of your life before your prayers are going to start being answered. I am a baptist and not a catholic so I am not sure how they teach on this subject but Jesus said in John 3:3 that a man must be Born Again. When you are praying or reading your Bible do you feeling a longing in your heart to know the truth? Do you really seek a personal relationship with Jesus. Being born again means having the Holy Spirit living inside you, His relationship is Spiritual, When Jesus died on that cross he forever washed away our sins, now all we have to do is accept his free gift of salvation by grace alone and we can be born again, if you would like to be just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you made a decision for Christ or have any questions, Please send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

Most youngsters including myself at one time go through a period in their life when they doubt the existence of God. As you get older and wiser you will realize that there is no way that a God can't exist. God understands this and will forgive you for it.

This is a question only you may answer. Read a few theories, learn about a few religions. And just go out one day for a walk look around and ask "Did God create this?". Look for it within yourself, and you'll find the answer. Whether it's no or yes. Whether it's years of evolution or a great being in the sky.
