Humanity inherited death because of sin. Scripture makes it clear that the wages of sin is death.

Because physical life is not possible without physical death. Just consider everything that is alive on planet Earth - from a single celled amoeba to ourselves, and every plant organism too. The food cycles show this. The seasons show this. The water cycles show this. Everything screams at us - physical life requires physical death!
Even Jesus had to die in order to give eternal life to those who would trust in him. He used the illustration of a wheat seed having to fall into the ground and die before new life could arise. Those who put faith in Christ pass over from death to life the moment they believe and even though they die (physically) they yet live eternally.

Because the brain stops sending neurons to the heart and other areas of the body, thus "taking the life" out of the person, and making them a blob of inanimate biological matter.
The exact cause of the cessation of neurological activity varies by the individual. Dying of "old age" just means that the cells within your body are unable to continue to sustain the bodily functions needed for life.

Death is a result of the curse on creation. God never intended for us to die, but when we sinned, we brought a lot of terrible things into the world, and death is one of them. In fact, if we lived forever, we would become more and more corrupt as time went on, which could make our salvation from sin very difficult, if not impossible.

In order to separate our soul from our human bodies that have been corrupted by Sin. This one of the Biblical perspectives on death.
1 Cor 15:33-58
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

The Adam and Eve story has more to it. When Eve ate the apple, it introduced duality to the human consciousness, instead of pure everlasting Oneness with God. She was told, don't eat this, you shall surely die. Then the serpent came and said "Thou shall *not* surely die." When duality was introduced, humans descended from a place of pure Spirit and Oneness with God into having to have physical bodies that appear to die.

I think we die to make room for those who are born AFTER us.... IF everyone lived and no one ever died, the earth would be over-populated extremely quickly .... all the natural resources would be used up and there would be NO ROOM, probably no trees and NO WAY to feed everyone... death basically makes sure there is room for life.... new life...

sin brings forth death Romans 5:12 Â That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.
But we do have hope. John 17:3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

Because we are not like God who has no b eginning and no ending.
That is the punishment given by God to humans when adam and Eve committed a sin. Read this
:Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
