I complimented this man at the store on how good his teeth looked and he gave me a dirty look and walked away...why was he so rude? I mean geez, I was giving him a compliment.

Well, its not something that happens everyday. Some stranger next to you in the store says, "you have nice teeth." What would you SERIOUSLY do?? Some people don't know how to react to people they don't know start talking to them. If you were next to me in the store and without saying hello or introducing yourself, just started to compliment my body parts. I would tell you "thank you" and then quickly check out and leave.

I would never compliment someone on their teeth if I didn't know them. It just seems a little more personal than complimenting them on their outfit. Some things are just better left alone if you aren't their close friend.

Maybe they were false teeth or you caught him by surprise. Think about what you would do if someone said "gee your breasts or butt look good!"..... Some people get weird in that sort of way that, I'm sure, you would if the later question were asked of you. I wouldn't fret it tho, you meant well. Promise me you won't lose any sleep over it!

Maybe he thought you were being sarcastic or unreal and decided to play a rude joke or something. Who knows people are ridiculous these days.
