1. You eat with them but my not sleep in the same quarters depending on your division
2. Tight (but it depends on the ship, carriers and tenders have alot more space then cruisers etc...)
3. Food is ok, better then most branches of service
4. Yes
5. Depends on your command and many other factors
6. They can be yes. I traveled the world, South America, Central America, Caribbean, Northern and Southern Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa.

Regarding the Marine's comment. It depends on your Rate. Technical rates do not clean much they are busy working on equipment. I learned a lot in the Navy, I definitely had a huge advantage when I entered college both in discipline and knowledge against my peers.

Eating>depends on if you/they are on watch or working. The quality of food depends on what you are used to.

Sleeping>there is a reason in rack locker is called a coffin locker, the bed is small. Some ships' berthing is divided by division/work center, in others berthing assignments are scattered.

Smoking>much of the Navy discourages smoking, but there are places where smoking is allowed

exercise>most ships have a weight room, exercising on deck is allowed, but not during operations or in foul weather

work load>depends on your rate; engineers work all the time

liberty>lots of fun, especially in foreign ports
