I am 29...so I figure I would work as a probation officer for a year or so and move up into FDLE. I love the criminal justice field and am so excited that I get to use my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology for something. This will be my first job in the criminal justice field and I am psyched to enter the academy for 3 months and then be a probation officer for a year or so. Am I too excited? I think I am going to love this field of work. Who knows, I may become a PO.

If I were you I would definitely be excited! I'm working on my criminal justice bachelors degree now. I think it would be a great stepping stone for you. I don't think they are paid so well but if you love the criminal justice system you should enjoy it. Just keep your eyes open for better opportunities! Good luck!

Congratulations, you should be excited, you worked hard to get to this point, now, remember, this is only the beginning!! Start thinking about getting through the academy that is the next step you MUST pass.

What is important in this matter are those you will be monitoring. Look at life through their foot steps, never treat them like the under class. Help them instead of harass them. Remember that you could always be accused of a crime, and be in their shoes someday. Peace

Of course you're not too excited. It's great to see people who are excited about a chosen profession. Congrats!
