There is this girl, who I have liked for a long time. She is the sweetest, most beautiful girl I've ever known. I think she's simply amazing!
Over the past few months, our eyes have met many times in class, and we exchange pleasantries whenever we meet each other. She even made me a Happy Birthday card for my birthday. With all this, however, she was going out with another guy, so I didn't, and still don't, really know if she likes me as more than a friend. She knows I like her, though; I never told her but trying to conceal my feelings for her was/is impossible. Anyway, she just recently broke up with her boyfriend. I've been talking to her best friend, and she said that she would would go out on a date with me. So in your opinion, does this girl like me as more than a friend? Or is this just a sympathy date because she knows I like her? If she wasn't so nice, I would be sure she likes me, but I just don't know. Any opinions?

Well observe her actions towards other guys...does she act like that to them also? Eye contact is always good but it doesn't always mean a yes...just don't get too caught up into her just in case she wants to be friends...but right now things seem to be going good just go out on a date with her but don't seem too needy just be yourself and see where it goes from there...good luck!

I would have to say, being that I am a girl, that she is interested in you. I think the date will be a way for her to really get to know you and see if she likes you. Sounds like you guys haven't really talked much, so she probably just wants to know more about you. And the fact that she broke up with her last boyfriend may be in your favor- maybe she wanted to date you instead! :)
I would just make this date really special for her- but don't go over the top. Maybe get some simple flowers, but not roses. Maybe some iris' or lillies or orchids or whatever. Take her somewhere nice but not overly 'romantic'. You don't want to freak her out!

Honestly, it seems like just a sympathy date. It's strange for a girl to be so involved with another guy while they have a boyfriend. She's either using you, or she liked you as more than just a friend all along.

well it sounds like you 2 are very close friends BUT!, everyone knows that if a girl calls you her bestfriend than you have no chance at all, i hope she didnt, but anyways, just go on the date and see what happens, and i agree with the other dude, ask her if she likes you.

ok if she just broke up with her bf than wants to go on a date with you she probley would talk about her bf the hole time or she will talk about him and ask you about your last gf (if you had one)or she will gust feel like talking to you for she can get over it but eather way she likes you a lot and trust you but give her a little time to get over her bf

well, when a girl is "so nice" she is usually trying to get into you and figure you out completely before deciding anything. being nice does not mean that she is pitying you, she just wants to get closer so she can really get to know you. you say you like her, so let her figure out if she likes you back. because it appears to me that she thinks she might like you.

U NEED TO FIND OUT WHO BROKE UP WITH WHOM, IT CAN BE SAID SHE BROK UP WITH HER BF, BUT IN ACUTALITY, HE BROKE UP WITH HER, THEN U N SHE GOES OUT FOR A DATE, U NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT UR NOT SOME TYPE OF BACKUP PLAN FOR HER OWN INSANITY, ANY BREAKUP WILL SET ANYONE FOR A BACKUP TRIP. BUT IF U FIND OUT SHE DID BREAK UP WITH HIM, N THE 2 OF U HIT IT OFF, THEN U MAUY HAVE SOMETHING TO GO ON, GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
