button mushrooms. they can be brown or white.

They are just regular white button mushrooms.

Yep... they're just button mushrooms. Sometimes you can find canned portabello mushrooms right next to the "regular" canned mushrooms. Either one work well in your recipes, and they don't taste that much different from each other.
