A boxer does not have the fat or the fur to withstand those temperature. Especially at night. If you get a dog house, you must ensure that it is insulated & has a door to keep the elements (wind, snow, rain, cold) out. Put a somewhat thick layer of hay on the bottom of his house, this keeps moisture off of his body. You can also buy him a fleece velcro coat from the pet supply place if he will wear it. Also remember that the dog needs water in this weather, so you will need to get him a "heated" water bowl.
The best thing to do is bring the dog inside. Especially at night. If you have a garage, make sure he has blankets to lay on & check the temperature in there to make sure it's not too cold in the garage either. Here's what I found that may help further:
Leaving pets outdoors:
* If you know anyone who keeps pets outdoors, persuade them to bring them inside. Low temperatures, winds and precipitation can lead to illness and death. In addition, water bowls freeze in cold weather.
* Remember, dogs are domesticated animals who should live indoors with their people. Living outside in a dog house is a sad life, especially in cold, hot and wet weather.
* Please keep cats inside. Felines who spend time outside can freeze, or get lost or injured.
* Dog houses and the law: Local laws typically require that if dogs are kept outdoors, the owner must supply the dog with "proper" shelter from the weather, which includes a dog house big enough to stand up in and to permit posture positions that allow the dog to stretch out and stand up, but must not be oversized, since the dog needs to retain body heat; a wind flap on the dog house door; nonporous bedding such as straw; and, access to fresh, unfrozen water.

As far as I know it is against the law to have a dog outside without proper shelter! He needs a house to get into that will block the wind, you need to have blankets, towels or straw in there to keep him off the cold ground. Check it daily to make sure that it is dry. Also you can put a heat light in the dog house. Personally I would not leave my dog outside in the cold or heat, she lives in the house with me and is part of my family. Yes he gets cold, dogs and cats will freeze to death without proper shelter, is he tied up or does he have a fenced yard so the he can try and find shelter? Is your dog vaccinated? On heartworm and flea prevention? Spayed or neutered? How much time do you spend with your dog? Your dog is a boxer, short hair, they are not made for cold weather! Why don't you go outside in a tee shirt and shorts for the night and see if you get cold? Bring your dog inside!

Boxers are not outside dogs in the winter they are too short haired. There is no dog that should be outside without shelter and some hay inside a dog house and a heated water container.

It depends on the breed. What is the average temperature during fall and spring? In extreme cold, your dog need shelter. At all times, give your dog some blankets and at least a bed of some sort.
Dogs (as all animals) are amazing creatures and will find shelter when they need it. If necessary, they will dig a hole to curl up in to get out of the wind.
Wild animals live outdoors all winter long and dogs are able to take care of themselves unless we domesticate them too much.
Good luck.

Unless he's a Saint Bernard or Great Pyrenes, or something like that then yes. Even if he is he still probably gets a little cold. If he's not a winter type dog then he definitely gets very cold. If you can't take him into your house then he needs to have a warm, dry place to go, and maybe even some blankets or towels or a dog bed.

Not that I condone any dog living outside (unless you live in a warm climate or some other special situation)... but to answer your question, yes I would think your poor doggy would be cold - dogs should always have proper shelter. You try sitting out in the cold without shelter.

if you plan on leaving the dog out overnight or something like that you HAVE to have a dog box, if its during the day, he will be cold, but yea, you should get a dog box or some kinda shelter he can go into if he does get cold before you bring him in

Get him a dog house! He'll be fine outside. We have one too and he hates being inside. But he really really needs a dog house. Boxers have short thin coats and he wont survive long without shelter.

DONT leave your dog outside.
If you wanted a dog, you probably wanted some sort of companion in your life. No living thing deserves to freeze to death in the cold, while his companion stays warm and comfy inside.

It is illegal to keep a dog outside without shelter (a dog house). So yeah he'll be cold. And he could die in the summer as well without shelter!
