My friend was doing a crossword and there is a 9 letter word.
the clue for the word is "dark meat on a turkey"

I thought that the meat turns dark because it is in areas of active muscles therefore the meat gets more oxygen and turns dark. It contains myoglobin, which delivers the oxygen to the muscle.
In our terms, we just call them drumsticks and eat around them lol.
