smokers only?

now be honest do u smoke around your kids? If so how old are they. If you don't where do you smoke? Just curious.

I was what you consider a caring care full smoker. I have kids and with so much awareness on smoking I had to be very care full. I use wait for the kids to go to bed then light up like a chimney. I thought as long as I was smoking outside and not allowing the smoke back inside the house it was safe.. WRONG!! My pediatrician told me that although I was taking all the precautions to carefully not bring harm to them I was because the smoke stays in your clothes, which in turn triggers allergies on them. I have since stopped smoking and have been cigarette free for 9 years. I wish I would have known for the first 2 years of my child's life..

I use to smoke, stopped when I found out that I was pregnant then started up again. I smoked outside. Yes in the cold weather I would go outside to smoke. But I quit cold turkey and have been smoke free for over 15 years. Put on a little weight but now working on that now and taking that off little by little. (happy) that I quit. Now I really smell others smoke and they are talking to me and I smell them they smell just like chimneys

I quit when I was pregnant but my husband didn't. I made it three months after delivery before I started again (SO STUPID!)
My husband and I usually go outside to smoke or, if our daughter is asleep on the other side of the house, we'll blow our smoke out an open window in the living room.
I don't think we're doing the right thing at all though. I really want to quit, but it's sooo hard!

My mom smokes, but never around me she always go outside and she always has. She usually wont even smoke in the car with me, when she does its a very rare occurrence. Im 15.

I never smoke around my kids. I always go outside to smoke. I never smoke with them in the car or at home. Sometimes, if they are not home and not going to be home for over 24 hours, then I may smoke a couple in the house. I make the choice to smoke and they are very important to me, so I try my best. Someday, I hope to not smoke myself!

I smoke outside, my boys are 2 years old and 6 months old. If my 2yo son is outside i still can have a smoke cause he thinks it is yucky and its my kids and i do what i want! But i dont smoke while he is right next to me or sitting on my lap!

You know what I rekcon - each to their own.. My parents smoked in front of me, my brothers & sisters smoked in front of me when they started smoking at 14-15 mind you mo oldest brother was 14 when he started and i was only 4, he never stopped smokin in frotn of me, same with all me other brothers n sisters (3 older brothers & 1 older sister) here i am now, the oldest one living at home i hasve 1 lil bro and 1 lil sis - i smoke myself, parents still smoke around the lil ones, my lil bro just turned 13 and came n asked me for a cigarette, i respected that he asked me for one instead of asking our parents or goin behind my back. My lil sis on the the other hand she is 15 - never told ANYONE she smoked - now she just smokes in front of us like no ones around and she steals our ciggies!

My daughters are one and I do NOT smoke around them, nor allow anyone else to. I actually had a family member light up while he was holding my daughter and I flipped out on him.

I smoked outside on my porch. But, I quit 2 days ago so hopefully I stick with it!

well I'm am only 15, but my mom used to smoke, and it drove me nuts. Parents please do not smoke around your kid. You are risking their life and yours. Think how bad you would feel if they had lung cancer from 2nd hand smoking. Then they die from it. Plus the smell is terrible, and its just rude blowing the smoke in people face. Also you are setting a bad example for your kids. They will see u smoking and think, hey if my mom does it, so will i!
