Situation 1: As my boss and I are sitting side by side at his desk(he was tutoring me french), he takes my hand into his and holds it with both of his, then with one hand ,then with both again, gently massaging it, as we're going over the lesson. WTF? After about 5 minutes he asks if it's a problem or not a problem...so I nicely asked to have my hand back and he "gave" it back. We continued with the lesson. What was he really doing and whyyy?
Situation 2: I arrived to work late by 1/2 hour, which wasn't my fault at all. So i told him(the boss)when he showed up later in the morning. I started to explain what happened, but he just smiled and went "aww..it's okay", followed by a hug. I didn't really need it. When he hugged it was a reeeaally long one and he wasn't patting my back or anything, just "holding" me. The hug stopped and we exchange small talk for a minute. When I paused, he comes back and does another hug, for a reeeaaly long time. What do you think that was about?

You know how it is-you pull away but the other person doesn't. So you continue with the hug, then try again, and then they slowly let go, wishing they could just "hold" you for the rest of the afternoon.

I believe that goes under the heading of 'sexual harassment' if (a) you don't want it and (b) you ask him to cut it out and he keeps doing it. It's pretty obviously just what you think it is - he's hitting on you. He'll probably be rationalizing it as "being supportive" or some other such silliness, but you just don't hug and pet someone who you're not involved with, especially if she works for you. Your choices are: let him work you into bed or tell him to quit it and probably get another job.

Your boss wants a more intimate relationship with you, but he is trying to be subtle. If your attracted to him, and he is unencumbered with other relationships, this could be good for you. But more likely, this is very, very, bad.
If you were inclined to sleep your way to a promotion, you would not be asking about what is going on. If you have a relationship and it fails, your out of a job and rejected. If you reject him, your just out of a job. If you conform to his wishes, you could get ahead at work, or he could fire you when he gets bored with you so you can't interfere when he moves on to the next victim.
If your lucky enough to work for a company that has a effective discrimination policy, follow it to the letter, document everything, and get a good lawyer. Or you could just find a new job.

Hahahaha baby that is recipe for a sexual harassment case. Film it on your phone or a hidden camera and sue him out of his living hell for his creepy behavior. Makes good business too.
But seems like you are enjoying it too?
So it is a choice-either you live your life as his plaything and french lessons are only 30 bucks from Costco.
Or you want to live your ;ife with respect and dignity then do something about it.

The first response is right. When a guy strokes his jaw, it means that he is contemplating. Please remember, he migh do it while: 1. Talking to a girl 2. Talking to a man 3. Talking to his students if he is a teacher 4. Talking to his interviewer in an interview There is no sexual implication to this! Hope this helps!

Heck Sounds to me like hes either doing one of these things.
1- Emotional Friend who is just longing for attention
2- Trying to be a friend but really being creepy
3- Thinks he can control you and do w/e he wants with you
4- Likes you, and being very um whats the word, obsessive about it.

At very least this is a severely inappropriate and out of line boss, worst case scenario he is a really big creep.
you should either quite or better yet tell the HR department your story, he's gone. no company has any tolerance for sexual harassment

Well he definitely likes you and is trying to get a feel if you like him too. I mean holding your hand and massaging it is completely unnatural unless he likes you. No guy is going to reach out and grab a girls hand unless he wants her to know that he likes her. As for the hug, he probably really just wanted to touch you and it was a way for him to do it. Since he is your boss, you should probably let him off nicely.

It is pretty obvious he is trying to loosen you up for more. Tell him in a nice but firm way that you want to keep your relationship professional. Leave it at that. Maybe start looking for another company while you are at it. Good luck!
