You should allow him to, and really listen, listen with your heart, but be honest with your feelings. I had a boy play the guitar and sing a song he wrote for me, he did it over the telephone, it was very sweet and I am touched even still when I think of the memory.

Listen to the song and if he has a good voice and the song is beautiful, then compliment him and ask for an encore.Even if the voice and song are not good, still compliment him and engage in a conversation about topics you both like and/or enjoy.While I know that you like him,this approach will allow you to see if he feels the same way about you and to sense if there is a future there.Good luck to you.
