I am not aware of any human sacrifices done in the name of Buddhism or atheism (both of which aren't religions).

Well, I guess it would depend on what you classify as human sacrifices. I believe anyone made to die against their will in the name of the belief is human sacrificing, at which point all are guilty. The worst being Atheism (humanism), as 25 Million died under Stalin and 50 Million under Mao's Communist China. Afterall, Communism was heralded as the 'Great Atheist Movement.' Also, Buddhism is also responsible for deaths, which shocked the crap out of me cause I would have never saw that coming...but, its true. Just because a system teaches to value life, doesn't mean all its adherants will.

Well like today? None, but you knew that hehe
All of them did at one time or another more or less. I'm not sure on the Egyptians.....but I'm not as versed with them as I am with some others.
And it would depend on your definition of human sacrifice on whether atheist have or not. In ritual? Of course not. In the quest for land and power over the centuries, yeah I'm sure they have.

all of them. when it comes to christianity, if burning people at the stake qualifies as a human sacrifice then the church offered up more than communion.

Not sure that all but one is a definitive answer. I don't think that many of the Navtive American ones did.

"And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son...." (II Kings 6:28-29)
