I heard a pro body builder mention he had an 8 pack which would become a 10 pack soon.

I always thought that people were born with a certain number of abdominal muscles ie 4 pack 6 pack ect...

Is it actually that you have more and you can just develop them so that they show?

having a 6 or 8 pack is purely genetic. exercise and diet can only increase or decrease the size of a muscle. it is physiologically impossible to change the shape of a muscle. not sure which pro said that but most of them don't know jack about human biology, anatomy or even nutrition. it's why they pay people like me big bucks to train and consult them.
