This is the third time I've asked this, and the first two times I did not receive a specific answer.

capnarlo: Excuse me, but exactly where is it documented in the Christian dogma and bible that God has endowed humans with inalienable rights (especially seeing that the Bible condones slavery, subjugation of women, and torturous executions for minor crimes.

Molly S: That doesn't even make sense. The first commandment says, "No Gods before me." The first amendment says, "Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof."

The golden rule is just as much Buddhist, Jewish, Hindu, and Muslim as it is Christian.

And no where in the Bible does it say that all men are created equal. How do you reconcile the acceptance of Slavery, women's oppression, and the destruction of children for the sins of others?

It seems anti-intellectualism has reared it's ugly head once again.

Most of the founding Fathers were deists, which really means Atheist, but no one wanted to rouse the natives with such drastic positions.. Keep in mind, the drafters of the Constitution had to placate and gain the support of a mostly Christian audience... of course they would make reference to them...

I am not saying that Deism=Atheism, I am saying that many were probably Atheists but were prudent enough not to say so.

It isn't. The Treaty of Tripoli said, "the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion..."

the main principle of the union is that all are entitled to life liberty and the persuit of happyness.this cannot be taken away without "due prosess" usualy a court order or trial be jury

christian principles are put into play by each individual state.
federal government passes generalized laws and the states build upon that.

for example drinking age is 21 federal law.
in some towns they have laws on how you can get alcahol ex. no beer on sunday is a common law i know of no state that has is but countys and towns do. some countys prohibit whiskey or liquir the county i was born in is this way.
another town law was no pool"billiards" on sunday.

so i hope this illistrates that the country was not founded on christian principles freedom of religion would suffer for it. it is for the state county or town to invoke christian principles.

california is famous for devil worship.
utah is famous for mormons.
the entire south east is known for christianity.

this is good for if you want to be with satan worship live in california.
want to be a mormon and be with your own kind move to utah.

i am an american and i hope that helps you understand better.

This misconception stems from Christians believing they hold a monopoly on all good moral ideas.

But personally I think Christianity is morally bankrupt, and people just turn a blind eye to it in the name of the desire to feel good about one's own private club.
