A PTF (part time flexible) earns $19.00 per hour
A regular earns $37,995 at step A and $49,218 at top step.
This does not take into account the fact that the new contract with COLA and level increase has just gone into effect.

Pay is good, something like $19 an hour to start. But you have to take a test to get on a list, and it can take quite awhile to get to the top of the list and get hired. Your military service will give you some extra points on the test though.

The USPS has NEVER laid off any employee, never. The other answerer must have been thinking of Casual workers who, although still not laid off, reach the end of their appointment and are not rehired.
