Teens are reckless and immature. Old people drive too slow and change lanes without looking. But then again, most drivers are morons no matter what the age, or they are talking on the phone. And what's with tv screens in the cars??? Ooops theres my tangent again...

Well, I have no problem with adults driving. So I have no answer for that part of your question. But the teens part is easy: maturity. There is a reason that young people have such high insurance rates: they statistically get into more accidents because they are more immature than adults. It's a statistical fact, but I am anecdotal evidence that it is true, too. I look back at my teen years, and it amazes me that they let me have a license. I had no business being on the street, and it is lucky no one got killed. Now, 15 years later, I am the safe, smart, alert driver that I never could have been as a teen. I don't recommend letting teens drive. It's not worth their lives or the lives of the people around them to take the chance.

Compare the number of casualties between the gulf war and road accidents during a same period of time. Driving is much deadlier than killing intentionally.
Teens tend to think that they are invincible and do stupid things, take risks and those who survive learn, eventually.
Then they become adults; with all the diversions adult live brings about, such as kids in the car, cell phone ringing, (women) wearing makeup on the way to work etc. Distraction is as deadly as foolishness.
In short, driving a car is taken for granted by most people and we all too often forget that we are actually sitting in a heavy metallic object, going at incredible speeds among other people doing the same thing. 100% focus is essential. Distraction and foolishness are NOT options.

If teens and adults didn't drive, guess the babies would have to? Some of the things that both teens and adults do that they shouldn't is talk on these awful cell phones! Some even try to text while driving. Bad enough we have the "make-up artist" the "eater" the "newspaper reader" and all the other multi-taskers out there and now we have cell phoners!

I believe that nobody - adult or teen - should drive under certain circumstances. If someone is ill, his ability to react to situations is diminished, as well as when he or she has been drinking, is upset or angry, is very tired or sleepy or not functioning on the level he or she should be. It is difficult enough to avoid accidents when things are going well without adding other elements which might cause bodily harm to others or to yourself and those in the car with you.

OK, I'm confused. If teens and adults don't drive, who's left? Little children and/or the elderly?
Do you mean you want to know why we should take public transportation period?
Less fuel consumption and emissions. Less air pollution. Less global warming. Less dependency on foreign oil.
How's that?

Why teens and adults shouldn't drive? Because it destroys the environment, gas is as expensive as h*ll, because car payments suck, because we all need a good dose of nostalgia back to the Old West......Because magic carpets and broom sticks aren't REALLY out of style.....because walking and bike riding is better excersize than sitting on your oversized rump roast in an auto mobile.....Because of the greenhouse effect...........Because it is impossible to "stop and smell the roses" while you are in a car....because cars isolated us from other creatures, from nature, and from each other........

Why adults shouldn't drive? If adults can't drive, there is basically no drivers at all.

Teens shouldn't drive because they're too young to handle the responsibility. If they can't get their homework done on time (and the majority don't), they shouldn't be driving.

multitasking(texting, talking on phone, messing with radio, ipod, smoking, digging through bag, reading, makeup), peer pressure to drive while intoxicated, or drive while intoxicated because it's so cool since paris and lindsay did it. anger issues, suicidal, too old, too young, bad vision, slow, stupid. not knowing traffic laws.
