I'm thinking about buying the 46" Sharp Aquos LCD 1080p HDTV (10,000:1 contrast ratio) from Circuit City on "Black Friday." It lists for $2499.00 at Circuit City and $2299.00 at Best Buy and it will be on sale for $1299.00. Seems too good to be true? What is your opion of this TV and price?

Got one, great TV exceptional picture clarity and sharpness, but do buy the extended warranty, i haven't had any problems with mine, but it is peace of mind.

I'm no expert but this is a good tv for the price. I own a JVC 61" HDLCD w/DLP technology (www.dlp.com). It's only a 1080i but delivers an awesome picture. If I were to do over again I'd choose between a 42"Samsung HDLCD 1080p or the 42"-46"Sony bravia HDLCD 1080p. If you compare these tv's you'll notice the distiguishable difference between the sony and samsung and other tv's of this caliber. The sony and samsung have an unrivaled detail in screen sharpness as opposed to other tv's. The others appear to have a softer focus compared to the prominent sharpness of the sony or samsung. The choice is ultimately yours, good luck! Oh, one other thing. The salespeople at best buy are not on commission and I believe they are at circuit city.

The Aquous line has come on strong this year and is one of the better LCD televisions. Last year it was Sony, this year it is Sharp.

A LOT of things are being sold at cost this Friday to get you into the store (and perhaps sell you a $100 HDMI cable), or a HD/BluRay player. Thank competition.

The blink pattern is probably a failure mode indicator for a serviceman's benefit.
