If he still seems sad i think you should approach him right away.
Ask what's wrong, and hopefully you'll be able to tell by his response if it's what you think it is.
If it appears your actions caused it, apologize.
You should, you were wrong to do that, especially because you claim he's a friend.
You obviously have made him comfortable enough to hug you and give you a kiss.
So you really need to set the record straight with him.
Let him know you just want to be friends if you do.
Tell him the face was wrong and immature, and he didn't deserve that reaction.
I doubt you're a bad person, but even a little thing like that can't really harm a person.
Whenever i upset someone i try to put myself in their spot and think how i would react.
Sometimes it's a rude awakening.

What makes you believe that your "icky" face was responsible for what you describe as his sad look. There could be any number of different reasons why he looked the way he did and none will have anything to do with you.If you feel he saw the look you gave your friend, then apologize for being rude .To do anything else will make you arrogant, cocky, and full of yourself (even if you turn out to be correct). When you get back after the weekend , play it by ear and follow his lead; that will let you know how he is feeling.

well, my advice is just to give him the cold shoulder for a few days, you may just be being too nice to him and he's getting mixed signals, ignore him for a while, instead of using full fledge answers, try things like, mmmmhmmmm, umm, just a cold feeling, and if he still acts close to you, then you need to talk to him and get the story, anfter a few days and if he doesn't seem as intertested, start warming up to him some more, he'll get the point. good luck
