where does the chain of intelligent designers end? if you're not going to evoke god into the discussion of intelligent design, you must reason that even the designer had a designer. and his designer had a designer as well. and so on an so forth. so where does the chain end? is it logical to assume that something as complex as an intelligent designer either just happened out of nothing or always existed?

peacetime, how can you make the assumption that he didn't have a creator if all you have to go by is what you know? certainly, your logic would state that even "god" does indeed have a designer.

1. Everything that begins to exist has cause of its existence.
2. The universe began to exist.
3. Therefore, the universe has a cause of its existence.
The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning. The designer, unlike the universe, had no beginning, so doesn't need a cause. In addition, Einstein's general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space.
Since God, by definition, is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created, so has no beginning in time

I dont believe in ID in the biblical way
however , I do believe that God had a hand in creation and evolution
but I am the first to admit ... that I dont know how or why
or where God came from in the first place given that energy cant be created or destroyed
yes I struggle with this
who created God .. and Gods God etc
edit
I also struggle with ... if God doesnt exist and the big bang happened without a creator ...
where did the matter originate if again energy cant be created or destroyed

I don't know about alll ID folks, but I believe in God. and think the chain ends with Him. I don't assume the creator had a creator, because I don't believe we understand God well enough to say something like that. We can study what we see, ie the world, nature, the universe, etc., and say it looks like a design. But how do we say that about God without the ability to study him?

Don't be fooled - 'Intelligent Design' was just a ruse by the Discovery Institute to get around their previous failure to get Creationism taught in schools.
But they know who they mean by the 'Intelligent Designer', and so did the judge.

Why do you atheists believe in human scientists who create things out of metal, glass and rubber. But don't believe in the Scientist Yahweh who creates things out of flesh, blood and bone?
