When I was 3 or 4, I also almost drowned in a pool. We were over at my parent's friend's house, and I had never seen a covered pool before, so I thought it was a step in the concrete. I went to walk across, and fell through. The cover quickly went back over me and I couldn't get out, and no air could get in. I remember it very vividly. My sister was outside with me, and ran in to get my dad. If she hadn't been out there, I wouldn't be typing this now. It was the scariest experience of my life. True story.

I got lost in South Korea once. This was at night. I was waiting for a bus after getting off at a subway station and it was taking a long time for my bus to arrive and it was cold outside, so I asked another bus driver if they went to the place where I needed to go and he said, "well not really but I can get you close where you need to go"
So I rode the bus and he said,"this is where you need to get off. It should just be up ahead."
I got off, the place didn't look like anything I was familiar with. I went into a convenience store bought 2 bottles of pop because I knew I had a long night ahead of me and I just started to walk... I spotted a building I was familiar with so I walked towards that. After I had reached there I was again unfamiliar with the place. I don't know I guess I was lucky. I kept walking some more without a clear direction but I began to see a bus number that I was familiar with and then bus stops that listed which buses stopped at that stop.
I kept following the bus stops until I reached the end- there were a couple of apartments but then empty space. I didn't want to pay to take the bus i was familiar with but because I was desperate I did, and it was weird because it didn't seem like it was going the right place. I asked the driver if the bus went to my apartment area and he said yes. I found out that I went the opposite way of where I was supposed to go and ended up paying again to the direction where I was supposed to go. The bus driver also said he had misheard where I needed to go.
So, I backtracked on the bus. Went through the stops again where I was an hour ago. Bus took a turn and there where the apartments.
It took me 3 hours and an extra $4 to get to my home just because I didn't feel like waiting for a bus and because bus drivers misunderstood what I had said.
Later during the daytime I walked out and wanted to see how close I was. It turns out I was going the right direction and that I was very close to home. I just needed to turn right and keep walking. I could have done it but I didn't feel like getting lost even more than I was.

Life kinda sucks doesn't it?

My worst memory became my best.
It was 29 years ago. My mother was very ill and wanted to take my 2 year son to see Santa Claus. So I drove to her city
we saw Santa nd the next day I was driving along the freeway when my tyre failed. I was only traveling 80 kph but my car rolled 3 times. My worst memory was when it stopped wondering how my son was.
Just for a moment I thought he might have been killed. That was my worst memory.
It rapidly became my best memory when he was smiling, laughing saying "Car fall down mummy"
I was frightened the car might burst into flames so I grabbed him as fast as I could and ran around laughing "my baby is OK"
The car was written off but my baby was not harmed in any way.

My dad had a very good friend when i was a little girl. Even at that young age I adored him, as he was so tall his feet would hang off the kiddie cot we had for him and he would toss me in the air and tickle me. In my childhood fantasies was going to grow up and get married to him.
I remember the day my Dad came home and told me that he had been killed in an airplane crash and showed my a newspaper clipping I was in the kitchen while my mom was standing at the sink and my dad was at eye level with me.
I was devastated\ oh heck I still am. But that is the first vivid bad memory I have.

My brother was playing tag in the house with his neighbor. We had glass doors without handles so you would just push the door open to get out. He was running to get away from his friend but the door was locked. He went through it cutting open his stomach, underarms, sides, and cracking his head open on the ground on the other side. He's okay now but that was verly scary.

I also witnessed a man cut off his thumb. It was pretty gross.

Being in a car accident, where I was at a red light and a drunk woman came barreling form the bar up the street and knocked me through the intersection. When I woke up, it took a minute to get my bearings. She didn't even know she had hit me. No one stopped to help me. I thought I was going to pass out before I could call 911 and that drunk would leave me there, unconscious and just get away with it!

When I was 5 years old, my mom was looking dried beans to take out the bad ones and the pebbles that sometimes are in there. I was at the table and I wanted to smell one and when I did, it went, pop, up my nose it went. I didn't tell mom from fear of her getting mad. I began to pick at it to try and remove it. But the more I picked, the father it went into my sinuses. Later that night I wasn't able to breath and the whole side of my face was swollen. Mom and dad took me to the hospital, they exrayed me and removed the bean. Everyone in the hospital was laughing. But my mom and dad wasn't. Costed them about $75.00. At the time, that would pay rent for a month.

- Watching my mom hit my dad for no ******* reason (living proof men are not the only abusers)
- My dad suffering from a heart attack in March. As a result, I'll never see March Break the same way again even though he survived.

I'd have to go with my dad beating the crap out of me and kicking me out of the house when I was 17. Living proof that bad things sometimes happen for good reasons. I learned who my REAL friends were, gained some independence that has helped me succeed in life, and grew as a person. That said, I recommend other ways of learning who your real friends are, gaining independence, and growing as a person. :-)

Thanksgiving about 15 years ago, I witnessed my dad put down our dog. Roxy had a long and happy life, but was suffering with distemper. My uncle finally talked my dad into putting her down and he shot her. I swear, it was horrifying to watch.
