The Priest (nor anyone but God and Jesus) cannot make red wine into real blood. He doesn't have any powers. That's the problem with the Catholic church (I'm sorry to say)...the priests are the same as we are in the eyes of God. The blood and body of Christ are taken at communion, with or without a priest or pastor. Jesus died for our sins...we don't need an intermediary to pass our prayers on or turn wine into blood. The wine and crackers/wafers are symbolic of Jesus' blood and body, as a reminder and remembrance of His ultimate sacrifice.
So, Pastor Art was right. His answer was simple (and possibly misunderstood by you, Fr. Joseph)., but technically true.

According to some theologies, Christ was actually an alcoholic. His blood tastes like wine because of the high alcohol levels in his blood.
Many people in the church may deny this, which should be expected, since it is quite common for "enablers" to deny that a problem exists.

It is symbolic of the last supper , the wine never changes and neither does the bread . But it does lead to a lot of priests getting a little woozy .

Funny, I thought they used white wine.
Transubstantiation means tthatt the SUBSTANCE of the wine is changed to His Blood. But the appearance, including taste, remains unchanged. I consider that a blessing.

This is wrong. The Priest can not turn wine into blood. Jesus turned water into wine but I have never in my 58 years heard of a Priest turning wine into blood. It is just a SYMBOL of Jesus blood. It is truly only Welch's grape Juice. Also those tiny crackers are not flesh. Just another symbol of Jesus flesh.

Well it depends if you're Catholic or Protestant. If you're Catholic, the wine is transubstantiated, i.e. it is supposed to literally become Christ's blood. For Protestants, it is consubstantiated meaning it REPRESENTS Christ's blood.
Now this leads to an interesting result:
EITHER: Protestantism is the more plausible sect of Christianity (b/c/ it's fairly obvious communion wine is NOT Christ's blood)
OR: The Protestants are a bunch of crafty so-and-sos who wanted a quick and easy explanation of why communion wine doesn't taste much like blood.
For what's it worth, I reckon it's a bit of both :p

Because, as Jesus said in John 6 it is discerned by faith and not by carnal means. If it indeed tasted like what it is, blood, then faith would not be needed and Christ is a liar. He is not!

Fr. Joseph
Pastor Art or C. L. Richardson,
If you feel that you can prove the accusations you make against Catholic faithful and His Church I am willing to debate it with you in a private debate where others can read but not participate. This is an open invitation.
