One of my male cats is lean but has a "pooch" in his lower abdominal area-and always has since he was fixed. While petting him I playfully jiggled his pooch and felt a pinhead size bump. Could a male cat have a nipple down there or is it something else? I tried to check it out more but he really doesn't like his belly touched.

It sounds like a hernia, which would have come from his mom biting his umbilical cord too short. If that wasn't noticible when he was fixed, the vet probably missed it. You should let him check it out, tho, in case it's something more dangerous. Good luck...........

First of all, what the heck are you doing letting a 9 month old female KITTEN get pregnant?? You don't have any cats - you have kittens! That in itself is almost animal abuse! Since it is too late to change it, I wouldn't worry about the male. A 9-month old will be fine around the kittens - when they bug him, he'll swat them and they will stop. I hope you are not planning on leaving her alone when birth is imminent! Just having someone come in once a day to feed her while you are away is not good enough in this case. All births have risks, especialy when the one giving birth is not fully grown and developed. Someone should be there most of the time (outside of the 8 hours or so a day you work) when the birth is this close to help out if necessary. An umbilical cord could wrap itself around one kitten's neck, or one kitten could be breach, killing all kittens after and mom too. I am not too sure whether this kitten will be able to adequately take care of her litter either, she is too young. Move her where she can be cared for properly while you are away. I would suggest in fact that you have all your cats adopted by families that have a clue as to what is good for them and what is not. To wonder whether you should have special care for a kitten giving birth, perhaps while you are away, and to let a kitten get pregnant, makes me think you are either very naive or totally uncaring. That is my biggest concern - not the 9-month old male kitten. They will sort that one out themselves, and Mom isn't stupid either - if the other cat tries anything, she'll take care of it, pronto! Good luck!

All male cats have nipples. My cat has a pooch as well. If you feel a lump I would take him to the vet. But you probably just felt one of his nipples.

I think it's just a nipple - but of you're concerned take him to the vet better safe than sorry.

Go to the vet. Even though it is expensive, better safe than sorry.

the vet isn't THAT expensive...and you really ought to have a vet check it out, especially if he seems sensitive in that area.
