Question for theists, agnostics and atheists?

From 1-7, where do you think you stand on the probability spectrum of the existence of god...?

1.Strong theist. 100% probability of god. In other words "I do not believe, I KNOW"

2.Very high probability but short of 100%. "I cannot know for certain, but I strongly believe in god and live my life on the assumption that he is there."

3.Higher than 50% but not very high. Technically agnostic but leaning toward theism. "I am very uncertain, but I am inclined to believe in god."

4.Exactly 50%. Completely impartial agnostic. "God's existence and non-existance are exactly equiprobable."

5.Lower than 50% but not very low. Technically agnostic but leaning towards atheism. "I don't know whether god exists but I'm inclined to be sceptical."

6.Very low probability, but short of zero. "I cannot know for certain, but I think god is very improbable, and I live my life on the assumption that he is not there."

7.Strong atheist. "I KNOW there is no god."



I am somewhere between 6 and 7.

"God" may exist; and so may the teapot orbiting Pluto, the FSM, and WMDs in Iraq. No immediate means of settling these questions once and for all; so technically we have to suspend judgment. That doesn't mean any of these things is likely.

For all that, if science has taught us anything, it's that our knowledge of the universe as such is piecemeal and even trivial, and that there are almost certainly entire "orders" and "planes" of being about which we know nothing. So we have to leave the door open; but that's still no reason to throw all logic and common sense out the window.
