Probably what happened is that there were flies in the plant when they were packaging the oatmeal. They laid eggs on the oatmeal and then the eggs hatched. I assume you mean the kind that are in the little envelopes.

A fly had to have laid eggs on the oatmeal during packaging.

Yikes! We have oatmeal frequently and this is disgusting.

Worms yes (not maggots - - they are strictly meat/blood).
Hatched eggs. From factory, in shipping, store or your home.
Be difficult to know what location. Most likely a small hole in package.

That happened to me once years ago (I was 11) and to this day I still cringe whenever I open a packet of oatmeal!

unsanitary factory. it's there on the belt and gets shoveled in the package along with the oatmeal.

Omg! Thats disgusting. That happened to me in collgege it was in hot cocoa though. I drank mouth wash thats how disggusted i was!

was probably contaminated food when it was packaged. or there was a small hole in the package
