OK, I think every SE Asian will recommend each of their country *lol*
So, I suggest you to visit Indonesia. Visit the beach/mountain, or cultural journey to Sultan's palace and temples, etc. You could find it here.
Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bali, Lombok, Sulawesi,... in 2 months you could visit lots of places.

Fact: There are more people on yahoo answers from philippines than any other asian descent. So most of the answers are going to say philippines. Im American but this is also a Fact: Thailand is the best, most fun, most safest country in se asia. Thailand is cheapest but Malaysia is also good. Philippines are good too but Thailand is better and we all know it. Fact: Thai food is better than all those other countries and Fact: Thais welcome foreigners more than other countries too! Kanchanaburi (Erawan Park) in Thailand is a must see for anybody and also Phi Phi Islands. If you like to party then go to Bangkok or Pattaya because Pattaya is wilder than Las Vegas but dont exploit there! have fun!

if you are going to malaysia, its inexpensive to travel by coach to all parts, accomodation is also cheap including langkawi beach area approx$30 us a night, rent a motor cycle there around $5 us a day to see the island (1 day). if you like snorkeling and diving go to perhentian island on the east coast by coach then fast ferry, stay at "mommas" on the big island about $30 a night for aircon beach front chalet, walk around to perhentian island resort for best beach on the island and use the facilities at the resort dive shop, the guys there are real friendly. i stayed in penang for a month in a 5 star 3 bedroom fully furnished condo called maimi green there, cost me about $1000 a month through www.penang-property.com attn miss lee, asia food all over malaysia is very cheap.
