Can you watch Windows Media Player videos on an iMac?

I have a Windows based PC, but I am purchasing an iMac. I have hundreds of videos on my PC that are all Media Player videos. I'm not going to buy the Mac if i'm going to loose all my videos. Is their a program that can play the videos? Will they be automatically converted to some other video format?

Download the Windows Media Player for Mac.
or you could download VLC and it will play about anything you want.
