You have to be 18 to legally join, but if you are a minor with parental consent you can inroll at 17 Also minors can be active in pre-military programs (ROTC, Civil Air Patrol, etc).

you can join at 17 with consent from your parents...but at 18 if you dont have it.

and war is just part of the job description. its not a bad thing to go to war..it just means that you have more guts that more than a million people in the world that wont even consider joining.

The legal age to enlist into the US ARMY is 18,
but, you may join at the age of 17 with your parents or guardian's consent and signature. BTW, for your information, enlisting into the US ARMY does NOT necessarily mean that you will go to war, but the US ARMY is in the business of training recruits into being PREPARED to go to war in case that happens.

17 with your parent's permission, 18 if your parents won't sign for you.
