Although the rash isn't ever visible on my back now, I do still get it, mostly on my arms and hands and very occasionally on my stomach. I smoke (not much though) and I do enjoy a drink (mostly Lager.) My Doc says it's a yeast infection which I am doubting. I drank Lager and smoked b4 the rash appeared but when I do drink Lager it does make the rash appear worse. It is never itchy unless I get very warm through running or exposure to high heat. I know lager is high in yeast so maybe the Doc is right (?) I have history in my family of Diabetes (long history) and heart problems. Any suggestions please?

Can only describe rash as small red/brown blemishes varying in size. Stress does appear to aggravate it but only slightly

It probably is a yeast infection!
You ought to assess your diet and see exactly what you are consuming that has yeast in it!
If you avoid any food or drinks that have yeast in, for, say a couple of weeks, then you will get an answer to whether this is a yeast infection or not!
You must stick to it for at least two weeks, though, or you won't get an accurate result!
If it is a yeast allergy, there will be a significant improvement in your skin, but if it isn't, there won't be much difference or none at all!
It is worth finding out, and you can then control the rash by the amount of yeast you ingest, even if you still have the odd drink!
Also, check out all the different alcoholic drinks you like, as they will vary from one to another!
A friend I have that is allergic to yeast, drinks red wine mainly, but only has lager on occasions!
I hope this helps!

It is tough when you enjoy something so much and are asked to cut it out.
I do not like to spoil your enjoyment, so maybe you could cut down to a pint a day, and have some Guinness to make up for it.
I was once told Christians should not drink alcohol, which I think is true, but I love having a drink with my mum and brother.
I stopped drinking alcohol from age 24 to age 42. Also stopped smoking.
But after visiting a Christian church was encouraged to start again. They did not like it that I was not drinking wine with them. And was only eating the bread. They really got on my nerves about it.
I did not have one gray hair on my head at age 42 as you can see in my picture. But all my brothers had gone almost entirely gray.
But when I started to have occasional drink of alcohol and puff of cigarette, I soon started to go a bit gray as well.
I'm age 47 now, that picture was taken 5 years ago by my sister.
Anyway! I have digressed reader... Best thing I have found for a rash or sore is bonjela, but on sores it stings like crazy, but soon gets rid of them quickly.
If you are not happy though see another doctor.
But as you say your doctor is most probably right.
Essential bath oils are also very good.
Hope you are better soon.

You may have a mildly allergic reaction to either certain fabrics or your choice of laundry detergents, but only certain areas of your body are sensitive to it. 5 years is a considerable amount of time for a rash to linger unless there's a persistent and present cause.

Your doctor is right. Diabetics are noted for yeast infections. Quit drinking and watch the wheat intake. Yeast doesn't cause yeast infections. Wheat/carbs do. Unless you're a woman. Then it's caused by carp

It is a Yeast infection of the skin, my kids had it. You need to get some Head and Shoulders shampoo and put it on it twice a day, leave it on for about 15 minutes and wash it off well. It is common in teens and just comes from too much yeast in your skin. It gets worse in the summer when you do a lot of sweating. You also need to dry off real well after showering, because moister feeds it. :)

Probably an allergy to something. It can be very hard to get it down to specifically what it is that is bothering your skin but what I have done is look for when my skin gets worse adn think about what has changed in my habits at that time (eating, environment, etc). It can be very subtle. Go get allergy tested and possibly get allergy shots. An allergic reaction can happen at any time in your life to anything, even if you weren't allergic before.

Try a different doctor until you get one that gives you the answer you really want. Diabetes does not cause a rash.

my husband had this..also for about 4years..there is a fancy name for it..something like malaseizure furfur...and yes it is a yeast infection..but not nec. caused by the beer.
He got prescribed a bottle of SELSUN which you can buy from chemist..you use it like a shampoo all over your body...stand and leave it on for 3 minutes. Repeat twice a week. should be gone in a cpl of weeks.
