The need to separate ourselves, to feel superior is and always has been a trait that mankind has. In this we are no different than the other animals that make up the food chain. Even though we have the "intellect" I think that mankind still has not gotten the hang of using it to benefit our species. So we break ourselves into "groups" or "cliques" where we all feel like we need to be to "belong". Of course we cannot set ourselves apart if we are not in some way "superior" to other groups. Someday you and I should have coffee and talk about stuff like this...

I think the main things we have in common are the need for water, food, shelter, companionship, satisfaction in some kind of vocation or occupation, and the pursuit of enjoyment. But I think the pursuit of those commonalities bring up all the differences. For example, I love teaching and really couldn't see myself doing anything else. However, I've had people tell me that they couldn't do what I do. Then I also know that I couldn't do what some of my friends do. I know there are things I enjoy doing (playing golf for one) that other people think are a waste of time. Therefore, I feel we have basic things in common, but it's the way we go about doing those basic things that brings up the differences. Hopefully that made sense.

The more financially one gets sound the more bonded one becomes and slowly the division takes place. May it be countries. One thinks of oneself as some grade has plus on, and others inferior than the self.
