Head Size?? (Serious question)?
i have some questions about head sizes.

how are head sizes determined? is it only by genetics or are diets a factor too?

im only talking about the skull. not the neck or face, just the scalp from which your hair grows =)

soo tell me everything you know or any theory you might have about head sizes!! =)

are there plastic surgrey where you can change your head size? (silly i know)

so are the head affected by food or is the size purely based on genetics?

thanx for all your answers!

Mostly genetics. But if you are a very heavy person your head will be larger than a skinny person. I have a very small head compared to other people. I take the smallest hat size and then have to stuff it with newspaper. If your male ancestors were bald then chances are you will be bald too.

I'm not a doctor or geneticist but I would assume head size would primarily be set by genetics.

The shape could be distorted during birth, maybe by the use of forceps; also in the early in the life of the baby, when the skull bones are still soft the skull can easily be distorted.

After the skull has hardened I guess diet will be the main factor after genetics in the whole body growth.

I think it's mostly genetics and gender. Men usually have larger heads than females. But...I have a disease where my skull fused together incorrectly as an infant...it makes my head very large...things like that can alter it.

It's all genetics, baby!

My brother has a big head, and so do three of my uncles. (We tease them endlessly for it) My late gpa had one, and so did his uncle. I don't know about the plastic surgery, but I highly doubt it. Ask your family doctor next time you go in to see him. As far as I know, food has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Genetics. All races have differant size heads that's how they can tell in a scull belongs to what race.
