Thanksgiving isn't about God, it was a day to celebrate with the indians in a new free land! It has nothing to do with religion!

I'm pretty much an athiest, and I do almost everything religious people do. It's not like we are a different species than religious people or anything! We watch the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade, eat (not turkey though, vegetarian family), be thankful for our good life and have fun! Happy Thanksgiving, and since when was it a religious holiday?!

Thanksgiving has always been a time to reflect on what we have both as a nation and as individuals and to be grateful for it. Personally I am thankful to God for so much. Our nation has been slowly but surely turning the holiday into a gluttonous feast with no meaning, probably partly because so many do not have anyone to thank. But I don't just sit around and pray - I think part of giving thanks is to spend time with loved ones to whom I am thankful. That could mean games or movies or TV and will probably include eating.

What exactly does GOD have to do with Thanksgiving???? Its not a religious holiday. Its a national holiday to celebrate the pilgrims and indians coming to together in peace. Thanksgiving is time to give thanks for the good things in our life. Friends, Family, health, etc. Again... NOT about God.

Obviously, you have no idea what Thanksgiving is about.
For the future: it's about giving thanks. It's not religious in any way, let alone Christian. I celebrate it and am thankful for the things I have, including a family to share my meal with and life. Just because I'm not thankful for some god doesn't mean I'm not thankful.

Just because you don't believe in a god doesn't mean you can't be "thankful" for something.
gratitude, or thankfulness "is not simply an emotion, which involves a pleasant feeling that can occur when we receive a favor or benefit from another person but rather the combination of a state of being and an emotion; often accompanied by a desire to thank them, or to reciprocate for a favour they have done for you."
Religious wackos are so arrogant.

I honestly had no idea Thanksgiving was a CHRISTIAN thing.
Seriously.
Even in my Christian school, they talked about the settlers and what happened to the Native Americans.
Choosing to celebrate holidays is my decision. There are those that want it forced on us, anyway.
