most of my ancestors are from central europe [or, at least the ones who were willing to say].

My grandfather spoke, read, and wrote German, English, Polish, and Finnish but make a patriotic decision to teach his children only English. Back then [before the Depression], this was called "fitting in" and was highly thought of.

So I am nearly mono-lingual in English.

[a few bits of Spanish and French have crept in, but hilarious still describes me trying to order from the mono-Spanish speaking clerks in the Burger King in Honduras.]

Being I'm an "Anglo" I think we're pretty awesome. No one should or needs to apologize for who they are. I'm white and proud. My sons (2) are Native American and proud. My grand daughter is Black American and proud. My son-in-law is American of Mexican decent and proud. And no none of us are from England and none of us are monolinguals.

Moron......white people speak Russian, German, Polish, Norwegian, Finish, Swedish, Romanian, Slovakian, Gaelic, Scottish, Dutch, French, Greek, Latin, Italian, English, American and who knows what else. Mono my butt. That doesn't include native tribes or different dialects.

Name me how many different languages the "latino" crowd speaks.

No and no. These facts can be checked. It isn't about what someone thinks. Most citizens are from the US, by the way. We don't like being 'assigned' to other nations according to our race. And plenty of us speak other languages. We just don't like being told by illegals and their supporters which one to choose.

I think it's rather limiting. "Anglo" only refers to those of English stock - which obviously not every white is.
