i am 49 years of age, but i am always told by people i know(and people i have just met that i dont look it(im not fishing for compliments, as i dont even tell people i dont know my age) anyway, they tend to think that i look very young for my age, which i am grateful for, and no one yet has said that i look older than 34! i have always tried to look after myself, my skin, hair, body ect, and all my life i have never gone over a size 12( even was a size 10 for quite a while. my height is 5ft 3inches. then i got married in april this year, and since then i have put on 11lb in weight!i nearlly died when i saw the scales!! this means that i am now 10 stone, but still fit nicely into a size 12. the problem is, thati have never been this weight and i feel fat. my husband says i look great and slim but im not convinced. others say that "yes" i have put on a few pounds but that it suits me and i am no where near fat! have i anything to worry about?

i have also been told that if someone tries to stay too slim as they get older, it makes their face look too drawn and haggered. what is your opinion.

How do you feel? Is the extra weight causing you any trouble? Can you still do everything you used to? If you are not feeling any ill effects from those 10 pounds, I wouldn't worry about them.

If you are noticing any shortness of breath, or joint pain, or chest pain, then you may consider dropping the pounds.
Losing weight quickly can make the skin look drawn, so if you choose to lose any...do it slowly and in a healthy way.

Hope I've helped.

Obviously you need to steer your mind from the idea of what you look like and think about your health first.

Carrying more that 10% of what you should weigh can put a strain on your body, organs, heart, etc.

If you want to reset your weight point, cleanse! There are a ot of great ones out there, specifically by Isagenix, Standard Process or Enzymatic Therpapy.

You will have to take responsibility in what you eat while you cleanse, but the benefits are ten fold. If you have more will power, then a week long cleanse strictly consisting of juicing is the best way reset your weight point. It is hard work, but if you are committed to changing your habits, you can do anything you want with your body.

Also, follow up with a series of colonics after a cleanse. Secret of the supermodels.... they do them in their home all the time.

And above all, learn to start loving yourself for who you are, not what everyone else says you look like. Happiness comes from within.

Good Luck!

i agree. if you are too thin, you look older, especially your face. a full face will make you look younger. size 12 is fine. you could work to maintain your size 10, but don't feel bad. you're not fat and you obviously take care of yourself. don't worry.

If you are considered overweight then you can stand to lose a few pounds, but otherwise no. Check your BMI to see if it's within the normal range.
