"I love your Christ, but I do not love your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ."
Gandhi
I think there is a small percentage of Christians that turn a lot of people away from Christ.

Satan will use anything to try to keep people away from Jesus. But if you talk to most non-Christians, the primary answers are believer who don't live up to what they believe in and unbelief in God or Jesus. Within the church, there are also those who attempt to get into heaven by means of trusting in themselves and their own good works. Also, becoming a Christian can mean a lot of changes so that it is in some people's best interest (or so they believe) not to believe in God. So, it boils down to four things:
1. Hypocritical "Christians"
2. Unbelief
3. Belief that one's own works can earn you a place in heaven. i.e. pride.
4. Fear of change

SIN.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God.
People would rather believe a lie, and follow satan,
than accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour [ John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10].

Unfortunately I agree with many of the other answers. Lots of people are turned off by the self-righteousness of His followers and the ways we relate to them. In our zeal to introduce people to Him, we are sometimes awkward and difficult. But the truth is people are proud and stubborn and sometimes use Christians as an excuse. The truth is that Jesus is the Son of God and that if you give your life to Him you will find true peace, joy and love. And the truth is that He is alive today, waiting for you to come.

Maybe peoples cultures/religions/ etc. that have been around a lot longer than your Jesus? Maybe their way of life? Maybe geological difficulties? People have different beliefs than you, and they think you're wrong just as much as you think they're wrong. So why even ASK such a question?

THE WHOLE PREMISE OF CHRISTIANITY BEING A MANS RELIGION. WHEN THEY DECIDED TO VILIFY WOMEN THEY MESSED UP. THEIR HISTORY OF PERSECUTING ANYONE THAT DIDN'T AGREE WITH THEM. JESUS WAS A GOOD MAN WHO TAUGHT ABOUT LOVE AND FORGIVENESS AFTER HE DIED THE CHRISTIANS THREW ALL OF THAT OUT THE WINDOW AND BECAME GESTAPO OF EARLIER TIMES. THEY STILL DO IT TODAY, BUT FORTUNATELY BEING BURNED AS A WITCH IS NOW AGAINST THE LAW. BUT NOT IF SOME CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALISTS GET THEIR WAY. THINK ABOUT THE CRUSADES, THE INQUISITIONS, THE CATHOLIC CHURCH'S TACIT APPROVAL OF THE HOLOCAUST. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT KEEPS MANY PEOPLE AWAY FROM JESUS. WHICH IS A SHAME REALLY HE HAD SO MUCH LOVE TO TEACH AND IF HIS OWN FOLLOWERS WOULD HAVE LISTENED TO HIM THINGS MAY HAVE TURNED OUT MUCH DIFFERENTLY. AS IT IS MOST PEOPLE CRINGE AT THE THOUGHT OF GOING TO CHURCH AND MANY OF US HAVE CHOSEN THE PAGAN PATH BECAUSE WE GOT TIRED OF THE CHURCH'S LIES.

Probably the fact that most people (two thirds of the world's population) don't believe that Jesus is a god or even the son of a god.

Legalism and vengeance of bi-polar
Son of Man and Son of God on high.
Jesus: was made under the law, and of woman.
Christ: is the end of the law, and of transgression.
Ye are not under law(Jesus), but under grace(Christ)
Eternal salvation is notably "through Jesus --> Christ".
To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world
Jesus: is only the Saviour of Israel
Christ: is the Saviour of the world
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Jesus was a man... he was probably a good person, but a man nonetheless. Not divine, not the son of an abstract being. There are COUNTLESS people who were just as liberal and righteous like Jesus, so why is it that nobody worships them instead?
